Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary

Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary was  established in 1976 and the total area is 435 sq. km. Here Leopard, Cheetal, Sambhar, Wild Boar, Tiger, Bear, Blue Bull, and Wild Dog are the Principal Fauna and Khair, Tendu, Sheesham, Teak, Bija, Saja etc. are the Principal Flora. A large number of reptiles and more than 150 species of birds are found here.  Means of travelling inside the area is four-wheeler petrol vehicle or diesel vehicle. Forest Rest house, Delabadiry is available for accommodation. Some nearby Tourist Spots are Shiv Temple Bhojpur and Rock Painting Bheem Baithika. Bheem Baithika is declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A fair is organised in Shivling Temple on occasion of Ram Navmi. The government has now permitted the use of the Diesel vehicles, which are not more than five years old.

Best season to visit is October to April.
