The total area of the park is 4.45 sq. km. It was established in the year of 1981. The Park area was a hunting place of the old Gwalior. In the Central region of the Park “George Castle’ is situated. The Castle was constructed at the highest point of the Park for the King George the Fifth for hunting purpose. Here the principal Faunas are Tiger, White Tiger, Leopard, Sambhar, Cheetal, Blue bull, Four horned Antelope, Chinkra, Black Buck, Wild boar, Alligator, Porcupine, Wolf Bear, Monkey etc. and the principal Floras are Dhawada, Babul, Tamarind, Bel, High beguine, Bamboo etc. Means of travelling inside the area are self-owned two-wheeler or four wheeler vehicles. Nearby some travel spots are Bharay Bhawan, Boat Club, Anthropological Museum, Kerwa Dam, Birla Mandir, Taj-Ul-Masajid, and The Big Lake of Bhopal. Some nearby religious spots are Birla Mandir, Cave Mandir and Shiv Mandir of Bhojpur. Fairs are organised in the Cave Temple and Bhojpur Temple on Makar Sankranti and Shivratri. On Janam Ashtami fair is organised in Birla Mandir. Throughout the year is the best season.
