Kishangarh

Situated on the National Highway No. 8, linking Jaipur and Ajmer, this small town was the capital of princely state ruled by the Rathores. Today, it is a treasure house of art and craft. It nurtured one of the finest schools of miniature paintings in the 18th century. This is the best known for the popular Bani Thani painting. Nihal Chand was the master artist of this school who, under the royal patronage of Raja Sawant Singh did the great service to the art. This region is also rich in marble deposits and is very famous for its marble products.
