The deposit belongs to the Upper Gondwanaland geologic belt and has plentiful and diversified fossilized remains of flora preserved as impression, casts and prettification. The processes is on to conserve this rich fossil site as “Fossil Park” and preserve the plant fossils in natural conditions and to develop a “Museum” to make the common people aware about the significance of plant fossils. Udhwa Lake at Sahebganj is a good attraction for tourists. A large number of birds’ even migratory birds inhibit the lake.
