Narsinghgarh Wildlife Sanctuary

Narsinghgarh Wildlife Sanctuary was established in the year 1974. Its area is 57 sq. km. It is situated in Rajgarh District in Madhya Pradesh. Here the most popular animal species found. Chital, Sambhar, Blue Bull, Leopard, Wild Boar, Bhedki, Crocodile etc. various kinds of birds are the Principal Fauna and Teak, Saja, Dhawda, Khair, Bhaeda,. Kronda, Lendia, Arjun, Chandan etc. are the Principal Flora. One of the attraction among the tourists is “Chidikho Lake” which is situated in the center of this sanctuary. It is a habitat of several local and migratory birds. Over 164 species of birds can be seen here. The climate is very suitable for the peacocks. Self owned four wheeler Petrol Vehicle are the means of travelling inside the area but they must not be older than five years. The Forest Rest House, Narsinghgarh is available for accommodation. Some nearby tourists’ spots are Sanchi Bheem-baithika, Bhojpur and Bhopal. There are many rock shelters in the sanctuary area where wall painting may be seen in the red and white colour. Narsinghgarh Fort, Bada Mahadev. Chhota Mahadev, Haji Wali Dargah, Soulah Khamb etc are some religious spots. During the Shivaratri festival fairs are organized near the BadaMahadev and Chhota Mahadev temples.
